The Cracken

I really can't wait to see the new version of "Clash of The Titans." I was a huge fan of the old version. My parents wouldn't take me to see it in the theater when I was a kid so I had to wait till it came out on HBO. They used to wait years to release movies to video tape. Nope, you had to wait and wait till it was on HBO and then years later it would come out on VHS. Now you wait a few months and the movie is on DVD for a dollar at a Red Box booth. Aren't these times amazing.

I was a huge fan of the original as well, Steve. I love Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion animation, and that movie was the pinnacle. Initially I was skeptical of the new one, but I'm actually coming around and look forward to seeing it now.

I have yet to see one of these new movies in 3D. I'm a bit worried about of that side of the movie. It looks like it's going to be pretty dark and I wonder if they will have that quirky little robot owl?

Well, ... I've seen a couple of 3D movies, Avatar and Up, and it seems to work alright. Mind you, I would have enjoyed those movies anyway, even without the 3D.

I was wondering if Bubo was gonna show up in the new one, but I haven't seen any golden owls in the previews so far. I think that the story itself will be different to the original, even though it looks like most of the same characters will be featured in one way or another.

You're right, though,... it looks a bit darker and more action-ish.

Bubo, man how did you know that name? When I was a kid I would pretend to play Clash of The Titans and I would run around with my plastic sword and talk to my pretend owl in the sky. I was a weird little kid.

Oh, man,... I used to have Clash of the Titans action figures. I remember having Perseus, Calibos, and Thallo. I also remember making a Bubo figure out of lego. I guess we were both weird kids. ;o)

I had Perseus and his winged horse and I used my giant Godzilla toy as the Cracken.
